Cape Town’s excitement is growing by the day as the new Table Bay Mall is nearing completion, with the opening day almost upon us. The 28th of September 2017 is already marked on a few excited Capetonians calendar’s in anticipation and visitors from afar cannot wait to enjoy their first day of shopping and discovery at Table Bay Mall.
Table Bay Mall will be the largest lifestyle orientated regional shopping mall in the Big Bay, Bloubergstrand and West Beach areas of Cape Town. We can all look forward to an amazing selection of over 150 shops made up of local and international brands and a number of alluring restaurants – some familiar stores include Dischem Pharmacy, Mr Price Sport and Pick ‘n Pay. Locals and tourists can also look forward to Table Bay’s modern Virgin Active Gym, which proudly uses recycled water from a nearby school in it’s swimming pool.
This stunning shopping mall near the coast will be easily accessible from our Blouberg Holiday Rental’s selection of self-catering holiday villa’s, homes and apartments. Many guests enjoy their vacation in Eden on the Bay and Big Bay throughout the year, while areas like Century City, Milnerton, Sunset Beach and Melkbosstrand are just slightly further away but still close enough to enjoy this luxurious shopping mall and it’s many attractions.
We already know that the mall is beautifully located, with views toward the marvellous Table Mountain creating a magical ambiance for guests before they even set foot through the entrance of Table Bay Mall. With the Atlantic Ocean just beyond, Fresh Ocean air will become a part of the splendid surroundings – holiday shopping, weekend adventures and lovely outings will no doubt become the norm here very quickly. Every opportunity has been afforded to provide modern luxuries and stylish finishes, while the cosmopolitan design allows for natural light to stream in from almost every part of Table Bay Mall. Conveniently, Table Bay Mall is situated on a MyCiti bus route, so getting to and from this shopping mall will be an effortless endevour.
Zenprop, one of the largest investment and development companies in South Africa, has been managing the construction of Table Bay Mall, while the award-winning team of experts at Vivid Architects are the brains and creativity behind the innovative design of the mall. Table Bay is 65 000 m² and is designed to grow to over 90 000m². Hanging gorgeously from the glass ceiling section of Table Bay Mall’s main lobby is a clean cut frame representing a Ship’s Hull, fitting in perfectly with the inspired theme and surrounding city.
There is even more good news – about 5000 jobs are being created during the construction of Table Bay Mall, while it is estimated that a total of 8000 jobs would have been created once the mall is open and operating to it’s potential. Table Bay Mall is also impressively water-wise; having created two harvesting ponds that will be harvesting water from the roof for ablution and irrigation purposes.
If you haven’t already included a visit to Table Bay Mall on your list of things-to-do in the area, now is the time to start planning. The doors will officially be opening on the 28th September this year (less than 2 months from now!), and Table Bay Mall will be open to the public everyday of the week, from 9 am to 7 pm.
